Welcome to the Community Dog Fouling Initiative (CDFI) website. The purpose of the CDFI is
simple: To rid our streets of dog mess by actively seeking out
and prosecuting those who don't pick up after their dogs.
We understand that the majority of dog owners respect the
neighbourhoods they live in and, just as they wouldn't throw
their rubbish on the floor, clean up after their pets. However,
there are a number of people out there with no respect for
others and no desire to try and keep our neighbourhoods a nice
place to be.
They believe that it is acceptable to go out for a walk and
leave a trail of dog mess behind them. Even worse, there are
those dog walkers who do bag up the mess, only to then throw the
bag into the trees lining the paths. Most of the time, these
bags are left hanging on bushes for the rest of us to enjoy when
we go out.
Take the next case for example: One 'lady' in Bradwell Common,
Milton Keynes, thought it was acceptable to throw her bags of
dog mess into the gutter two or three times a day. Not her
gutter mind you, she would walk around the block and throw the
bags outside a junior school. When confronted by our team, this
women tried to defend her disgusting behaviour by claiming that
there was nowhere else to dump it....We then pointed out that
the council had installed a dog waste bin 30 seconds from her
front door. Case closed? Unfortunately not as after the first
confrontation, the women then started throwing her bags into a
small wood enjoyed by the local children. Based on this and her
steadfast refusal to play by the rules, this women is soon to be
receiving a nice letter from the council - together with a fine
of up to £1000.
And THAT is what the CDFI does. If you, as a dog owner continue
to flout the law, we WILL track you down, film what you are
doing and pass on your details for prosecution.
